Ainsley Hawthorn, Ph.D., is an international expert in sensory studies with a Ph.D. in cultural history from Yale University. Her research combines insights from history, psychology, and physiology to help us understand the role the senses play in our societies and in our private lives. She has been invited to speak on her work at the University of Munich, the University of Vienna, the Free University of Berlin, the University of Würzburg, and Venice International University. Her upcoming non-fiction book, The Other Five Senses, combines personal stories with the latest scientific research to introduce readers to the lesser-known senses of balance, temperature, pain, body position, and the internal organs.
