Dr. Linda Nielsen is a Professor of Education at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC. She is an internationally recognized expert on father-daughter relationships and on shared physical custody for children with separated parents. In addition to her many academic articles, she has written four books on father-daughter relationships. For the past 32 years, she has been teaching the only college course in the country devoted exclusively to father-daughter relationships. Her research and advice have been featured on BBC, PBS, NPR, as well as The Atlantic, Time. Oprah, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Washington Post. Her college textbook, Fathers and Daughters: Contemporary Research & Issues (Routledge: June 2019), is an excellent resource for mental health professionals. Her newest advice book is a practical guide for men and their daughters: Improving Father-Daughter Relationships: A Guide for Women and their Dads (Routledge, 2020).
