Caroline S. Clauss-Ehlers, Ph.D., ABPP, is a professor of psychology in the School of Health Professions at Long Island University, Brooklyn. Her clinical and research interests focus on resilience in children and families. Clauss-Ehlers served as Chair of the American Psychological Association (APA) Task Force on Re-envisioning the Multicultural Guidelines for the 21st Century, whose work, Multicultural Guidelines: An Ecological Approach to Context, Identity, and Intersectionality, 2017, presents multiculturally responsive guidelines for psychologists. Her book Eating Together, Being Together: Recipes, Activities, and Advice from a Chef Dad and Psychologist Mom, co-authored with husband Julian Clauss-Ehlers, a New York Times star-rated chef, is about strengthening families through the preparation, rituals, and enjoyment of food (Princeton Architectural Press). Clauss-Ehlers also has a part-time private practice.
