Sandeep Vaishnavi M.D., Ph.D.

Sandeep Vaishnavi, MD, Ph.D., is a physician fellowship-trained in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry (from Johns Hopkins). He is certified in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry from the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. His Ph.D. is in cognitive science, with a specialization in cognitive neuroscience. He has done residencies at Duke University (in Psychiatry as well as in Clinical Psychopharmacology) and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins. He is also the author of the books The Traumatized Brain and Healing the Traumatized Brain, the latter released in July, 2023.

Vaishnavi is a faculty member of Duke University’s Visiting TMS Fellowship and the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences. He is also a faculty member of the Clinical TMS Society’s PULSES courses (where he teaches about transcranial magnetic stimulation to physicians and other clinicians from around the world). He is a member of the Clinical TMS Society’s Education Committee. Along with his two books, he was written five book chapters, and published 57 peer-reviewed scientific papers and abstracts. He has had over 25 funded research studies, including from the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Defense. He has been quoted by the popular media, including USA Today, Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, Business Insider, Psychology Today, The American Legion Magazine, Johns Hopkins Magazine, Raleigh News & Observer, Everyday Health on Sirius XM, and National Public Radio. He has received the Dorfman Award for best scientific paper by the American Academy of Consultation-Liaison Medicine, and he has received the Clinical Service Award twice from the Duke University School of Medicine,

Vaishnavi is the President of the Center for Brain Neuropsychiatry and Brain Stimulation (CNBS), an ARC Health company. ARC Health is a behavioral health company with presence in 22 states and with over 1,500 clinicians.
