Veronica Raggi, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist that specializes in treating anxiety disorders in youth. She is the owner of Brighter Outlook Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, LLC, located within the Washington D.C. Metro area. She has over 15 years of experience providing comprehensive and integrated care for children, teens, and adults with anxiety and co-occurring disorders.

Dr. Raggi has a passion for bringing increased attention and awareness to the issues of youth anxiety and the application of evidence-based approaches, including effective parenting and school-based strategies. She has been a speaker for podcasts on this topic, been interviewed by the Washington Post and other media, and has published in numerous academic journals on evidence-based approaches to child mental health treatment. Dr. Raggi is first author of Exposure Therapy for Treating Anxiety in Children and Adolescents, a comprehensive, practical resource on the “how-to” of implementing exposure-based therapy for youth with anxiety.

Dr. Raggi has particular interest and specialization in the treatment of Selective Mutism. She provides individual and school-based interventions for this group. She has co-developed and run intensive summer camp programs for children with Selective Mutism for the past six years, including collaboration on a pilot study to examine camp outcomes. She currently co-directs the Kids Out Loud Summer Intensive Program for Children with Selective Mutism. She also facilitates peer consultation groups through the Selective Mutism Association.

Dr. Raggi earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, completed internship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and postdoctoral training at New York University (NYU) Medical Center/Child Study Center.
