Jeremy Nicholson, M.S.W., Ph.D. is a doctor of social and personality psychology and focuses on decision-making, social influence, and relationship dynamics. He also holds a master's degree in industrial-organizational psychology, with concentrations in training, statistics, and psychometrics—and a master's degree in social work, with an emphasis on direct practice. He currently lives in western Massachusetts.

Since 2001, Nicholson has worked in various aspects of education, research, and training. He has served as an instructor at the University at Albany, SUNY, and as an assistant professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Before that, Nicholson spent 9 years in the healthcare industry, helping to develop, manage, and train healthcare professionals in psychosocial interventions to improve end-of-life care treatment and planning. He has also served as a blogger for Psychology Today since 2011, in the areas of social influence and romantic relationships—and more recently, in general decision-making and persuasion too.
